learned a lot. Especially the combination of lessons and
communication with the host family was very good. Balance between
different aspects is very good. More stress is on grammar and
conversation, than on reading and writing, which I consider a good
balance.
You offered the most interesting programme in comparison with other
schools. I was very happy the school organised the trip to Novgorod.
It would have been great if also more activities were organised, but
I understand that I stayed in St. Petersburg during "very hot saison".
I can recommend take lessons in the ProBa Language school very much.
I could advise you to stay with a host family, as this will help you
a lot to learn how to speak Russian. |

They have little groups and the lessons are communicative. For instance a course for two weeks could be a very good continuance after lessons in high school or other school. (the problem of language teaching in high schools in Finland is that it is very exam orientated.)

This school and persons work here are very professional, you can
really learn Russian here. The best is our teacher Ira: she is
friendly but she made us study a lot. She is positiv, smart, she can
also understand and speak Italian language. We could see that she
likes to teach and she does not do it just because is her job. She
paid attention to both of us. If we come back we want the
same teacher. |

Good teacher,
good group, good family, good course material, good atmosfere, value for money, very
helpful! I only come back if I can stay again with my host family - two very nice and
interesting people!
I highly recommend this school. High quality educateion at a fair price. Teachers with a
real interest in their students, also after school is out. Not only commitment, but realy
involvement. Not only a school of Russian Language, but also of Russian life, history and

Very good
classes, good atmosphere at school, great teacher!
Activities after school sometimes a bit last-minute - was interfering
with other plans. My host family are very flexible with everything which I really
appreciated.I have studied at language schools before but never did I meet teachers who
were so involvedwith the process of learning, which showed especially by extending the
class for an hour every day. |

I appreciated
the quick identification of my skills at the very beginning of the course. My teacher Seva
has a very thorough knowledge of the Russian Language. He has the great ability to explain
understandably why things are as they are. The teacher had a great ability to evaluate
where to put the focus of the course in order to make a maximum of progress in a short
period of time. However, 2 weeks are definitely the absolute
minimum even with good RFL knowledge at the beginning. I would like to return to my
hostfamily without hesitation. I'll come back... |

For both the
teachers and students it would be helpful, in my view, to change teachers for 2-3 session
a week. We would hear different voices, and teachers would have relief from difficult
students. I don't think that using only Russian for students, who know almost nothing of
the language, is the best way to teach. We changed to part English-part Russian after a
few days and made much more progress, "Modern" teaching methods aren't
necesserily the best. Ivan Sheiko: A good, concientious and hard-working teacher. We made
good progress in our second 2 weeks. He went out of his way to provide extra material,
typing much of it at home in his own time.
He has a particularly good knowledge of the nuannnces of Russian and ita etymology. He may
prefer to teach more educated students than us with his skills. I feel we got on very well
together however. He has a delightful sense of humour!
It is useful to have a tangible sense of progression and a final goal in any study.
Hostfamily: Olga provided a very clean and tidy house with great food, and relationship
was excellent. Olga went out of her way to talk to us in Russian and was always helpful.
Strongly recommended. The children were also helpful and very courteous. |

The lessons
were tailored to my particular needs, so that i never felt overwhelmed or that i was
wasting my time. The friendly atmosphere, weekly excursion and the overall experience made
my time here both well spent and enjoyed.
My teacher structured the lessons based upon what would best suit my personal goals and
needs. If i ever felt that i had a question, i felt comfortable in bringing it up for
clarification. |
